49ers vs Seahawks

49ers pull out a great win as they beat the rivals from the northwest the Seattle Seahawks. It was another great day fro the defense as they limited the Seahawks to only 10 points. They defense is fast become one of the better groups in the NFL. The pass rush is there, the linebackers are all over the field the field and the corners are shutting down the passing game. I know it it only 2 weeks into the season but I feel better now than at any point last season because both sides of the ball are playing great. The defense is doing everything it needs to and then some. Yes the sack numbers are not there but that has little to do with pressure. They are all around the quarterback getting close to the sack. Seattle has a quick passing game so the sacks are just not going to be there because they get the ball out so fast. The linebackers are pairing with that front group to almost completely shut down the running game of the opposition. Julius Jones was shut down after having rushed for 100yds last week. The secondary has been amazing to start the season with two great weeks. They are covering almost the whole field and making the quarterbacks life difficult and the passing opportunities hard to come by.

We finally see the offense we expected to see from the 49ers. The running games was explosive and the passing game did what it was supposed to, not turn over the ball. Frank Gore had 2 long runs as the offensive line opened hole after hole for Gore. The passing game still is a question mark as we move on into Minnesota. Running the ball will be difficult and Morgan and the other receivers not named Bruce have not been getting open. Morgan has got to get open so that the opposing defenses cannot just settle on stopping the run and ignore the wide outs.

All in all a great game from the Niners and we are looking forward to a battle with Minnesota and AP Adrian Peterson

SF 49ers vs Cardinals

This game was physical and ugly. It was a battle and I am sure that Singletary loved every minute of it. The Defense looked great and the offense looked ok if do not include the third quarter. The offense line needs to get it going as they were horrible in pass blocking and did not open any holes for the running game. The MVPs of this game was definitely the defense. Willis once again lead us in tackles and the D-Line had pressure on Warner all game. They held the explosive Cardinal receivers in check and shut down the run. The really only downside was they continually left Hightower open in the flat as the 100 yd would show. But all in all the defense showed they could pressure the passer and force turnovers. Now on to the hard part. The offense looked o.k time to time but were pretty much outplayed the whole game. The running attack was non-existant and the passing game looked fair. If we want to be the team we should be the offensive line needs to open holes and get Gore 100yds running a game at least. The whole offensive group did show us something by the way they finished. The last couple of years in this situation we would have turned the ball over or messed the drive and lose. But this team seems different. It seems to have reached the level ,with Singletary's lead, that shows they may have turned the corner.

Oakland A's on a roll

The A's have won again beating the Rangers for the second day in a row. The offense is scoring runs and the pitching has been great. When you get a complete game performance from Brett Tomko you know things are going great. The players are finally showing they belong with Pennington and Davis leading the way. At least to start next season I would expect the starters in the field to be like this: Cust - DH, Buck - LF, Davis - CF, Sweeney - RF, Barton - 1B, Ellis - 2B, Pennington - SS, ??? - 3B. I still have no idea who plays third base next season as Kennedy may resign, or Wallace or Chavez may take this spot. Third will probably be one of the few spots going into next season outside of maybe first if Carter or Everidge can push Barton out. All we can hope is that this new found offense and good young pitching can lead us back to the higher side of .500.

Heatley Trade

The trade is finally done and the Sharks have the "sniper" they have been looking for. The first 2 lines are probably the best in the league. The first line is by far the best in the league with Marleau, Heatley and Thornton. You have two 35 goal scores and the best passer in the league. Very few teams in the league can posssibly match up with the first line. Yes you lose Michalek and Cheechoo but Setoguchi settles into that second line whole and we get Cheechoo's large contract off the books. The main holes now to fill as training camps starts is the third and fourth lines and the defense pair match-ups. But we are now the best team on paper in the NHL.

San Francisco 49ers

The season is close to starting and most fans are excited. I am expecting us to make the playoffs this year and cannot wait for the first game. I really want to see if we have the defense to keep up with Arizona or the offense to keep the defense rested. Can we throw the ball well enough to keep teams honest and not see 8-9 man fronts. I am really looking forward to seeing what we have at receiver and if they can get open. That has been the major point of focus for the offense because the Line and running backs are looking great. Last point is can the defensive front get any pressure on the quarterback. Do they even get close to the QB. Your thoughts on the team and players you are looking to see.

Sharks make a trade today. Not the one I was hoping for but it clears cap space. The trade hopefully this will open up the bigger trade we all are waiting for

Sports Update My A's thoughts

The A's pulled off a great win, beating the Angels. It may not matter much in the bigger scheme of things but it is a good win overall. Cahill looked great which hopefully will let him turn the corner. Anderson and Gonzalez are looking like they have figured it out, Mazzaro is still working, and Cahill is going good. The major turning point in the next couple games and the rest of the season is can the hitting finally take hold. Can Pennington hold down short, who plays third/first and what do we do in the outfield. Can Chris Carter play first or does Everidge/Barton take that spot. Do we expect Davis and Hairston to man the other outfield spots or does Buck and Cunningham take those openings. The pitching is set for years to come but do we have the hitting or do we become the Giants who have great pitching but no other hitter but Sandoval. Let me know your thoughts

End of Night

The work day is finally over for me and its almost time to go home. I get to sit back and relax until the last movie exits the building. That is probably the worst thing as an assistant manager I have to sit her and wait till the patrons from the last movie Inglorious Bastards. If you follow Bay Area sports then you should know I am a huge A's and 49ers fan. The 49ers are looking good and my A's look better but are still a ways away from competing. Hoping to go to a couple more A's games and I'm definitely read for Football to start. I wanted to keep my season tickets for the 49ers but finance are scarce and I had to let them go. But I will still try to get out to see a couple games this year so GO NINERS! Hope everyone has a good night.

First Day as a blogger

This is my first day as a blogger and here is my first attempt. After class all morning I am now going into my second life as Cinemark (slave) employee. I have to close tonight at work tonight and next week starts the slow season. This means no more actual manager shift but I get to fill staff shifts in box office. The problem with that is I am the highest ranking assistant manger and i am relagated to filling shifts that our newest employees fill. Basketball tomorrow yeah after a very long sleep tonight. More to come at a later time
